The 8K TV used 15,360 units of Mini LEDs to achieve 960 local dimming zones. Each of the dimming zone can deliver 4096 grayscales to realize a high contract ratio of 400000:1 and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. The 4K TV also adopts the same technology but with 240 local dimming zones.
Both TVs implemented QD technology as well, presenting excellent performance of 1.07 billion original colors and 98% P3 wide color gamut. The refresh rate is 120Hz, and supports 120Hz MEMC.
Since 2019, Xiaomi has been reportedly developing Mini LED TV and the rumor is now proved. Despite that Xiaomi has worked closely with MLS, the Mini LED backlight units of the new TVs are not supplied by MLS.
