How to Build a Wind Turbine – Equipment List

Have you ever thought about building a wind turbine? Well to be honest it’s quite hard to explain in print but I’ll do my best to give you a brief outline on what may be required. Building the wind turbine in not necessarily as hard as you may think. They equipment that you need to acquire is not difficult to source at all and the construction phase too is not lengthy.

Some of the materials that you may require are PVC sheets or Plywood, copper or magnetic wire, LED, eye screws, washers, 1/4 inch square dowel, glue and disk magnets. The tools require to build a wind turbine are simply a compass, screwdriver, glue gun, pencil and paper, tape measure, voltmeter and a tape measure.

However before you even begin assembling materials and equipment to build a wind turbine you need to know what type of wind turbine you will be building. What size turbine can your property take? How high does your tower need to be? Is there enough wind clearance where you plan to put it etc? These are all question that you must answer before you take steps to build your wind turbine.

Once you know how to build a wind turbine it is a relatively straight forward process. As with a lot of other building projects the devil is in the detail. You need to plan well ahead with this type of construction.

There are many places online where you can purchase kits that provide everything you need to build your wind turbine, however as you have already read, the materials needed aren’t outlandish and can be easily found at most hardware stores.

While I can’t go into detail to show you how to build a wind turbine (simply because it would require pictures) there are numerous guides available online that you can purchase that take you through the whole process. These guides can often show you how to build a wind turbine for under $200.

Now that you know the materials and equipment needed to make your own turbine you should be confident enough to find some designs or perhaps get yourself a guide so that you can begin construction on you wind turbine to save yourself some money.
