Taiwan-based flexible printed circuit board producer Uniflex announced its development of Mini LED substrates which has entered the supply chain of LED chips, LED backlight modules and panels. The company expects mass production and shipment of the products in the fourth quarter of 2018.

According to Uniflex, it has developed suitable substrates for Mini LED and claimed that it will improve the transfer yields to 99.8%. The company believes that Mini LED technology will become the mainstream display technology with its excellent performance which is compatible to OLED but with longer life time compared to OLED.
Uniflex plans to increase its production capacities and will reserve transform 10,000 square meters of production spaces for Mini LED substrates. Though its profit margin has not grown in the past two quarters, Uniflex hopes the shipment of Mini LED substrates will lift its profit in the coming months.
