UL and ETL Listed LED Lights for Commercial LED Lighting Applications UL and ETL are labs certified to test and approve electrical products in the USA

December 18, 2014 There are two general types of LED light fixtures; low voltage and line voltage. The low voltage range is typically 12-24VDC. This type of LED light fixture is usually operated by use of an AC-DC transformer which drops the voltage down to the amount required to power the LED fixture. Many building inspectors will accept a UL or ETL rating on the transformer even though the LED fixture itself is not listed because it is the transformer which handles the line voltage load. In other cases, especially in commercial LED lighting installations or new construction, building inspectors require that the LED fixture itself have a UL or ETL listing.

You may be wondering why all LED producers don’t have their goods UL or ETL certified. The answer is pretty simple – it’s an expensive and time-consuming procedure, and ultimately raises the price to the end user. Nevertheless, we are seeing more and more 120 VAC LED lights to enter the market to meet this growing demand at very affordable prices.

One way to meet building code requirements is to install UL or ETL listed standard light fixtures and lamp them up with energy saving LED light bulbs. A very popular lighting solution in our LED store is our dimmable LED track lighting fixtures. These are suitable for commercial or residential lighting purposes, given the fact that LED light bulbs are available today with high lumen output and dimming capability. Colour temperature ranges from a very warm 2700K to a crisp, white 5000K. LED T8 tubes are available today which are compatible with both electronic and magnetic ballasts, taking the guess work out of there- camping job and not requiring you to replace existing fluorescent fixtures. You can even get U-bend LED tubes now. LED cabinet lights are not just for kitchens. Our line voltage LED under cabinet lights are frequently installed in commercial spaces, providing light in bookcases, over desks, and over other types of workspaces. These can be hard-wired to a junction box and come in a variety of lengths from 9″ up to 45″ to completely customise your installation. An assortment of link cords and power cords make installation simple even for the inexperienced homeowner. Line voltage LED low profile lights just recently came into stock here and we’re happy with the high demand and high customer satisfaction these flush mount LED lights to enjoy. We now have both satin nickel and white finish in stock, and lights that will fit either a 3″ or 4″ junction box. Simply remove the existing outdated light fixture and wire in a new, energy-saving LED ceiling light. Not only are these lights UL listed, but they also are Energy Star rated, guarantying you the most bang for your energy bucks. Our RAB LED lighting lineup offers lighting fixtures such as LED billboard lights and LED wall pack lights. Made in the USA, all RAB Lighting products are UL listed and also have added qualifications to meet the most stringent building codes and lighting standards. In this line, you’ll find lighting that will operate at 277V, a typical electrical need in larger commercial buildings. And of course, we offer contractor pricing on LED lighting. Contact us for a quote on your next volume purchase. We want you to get that job and will quote it right the first time. Our experienced staff can help you to select the right LED lighting for the job within the customer’s budget. Before you vote in favour of price instead of quality on your next LED lighting job, call our General Manager, Mitchell Cohen at 775-841-4490 and ask him to review any quote you’ve received from our sales staff. Mitchell is here Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time and is waiting to hear from you.
