Switchex LED Dimmer and Driver eliminates the need for large dimmable transformers for LEDs

The Switchex is a dimmer and driver for LEDs rolled into one. No extra parts to purchase. October 1, 2015 We introduced this new product a few weeks ago. Is it too good to be true? Absolutely not, and customers are just loving the new Switchex LED Dimmer and Driver. This single product is all you need to power and dim your 12 or 24 VDC LED lights. Customers have had some specific questions regarding this new product, so today we’ll further expand on product detail. First, how is the Switchex installed? It’s as easy as installing any other line voltage dimmer and fits in a standard outlet box. The black and white wires to to your 120VAC power. The red and blue wires are the 12 or 24VDC output wires. Another question that has popped up several times is about the trim plates vs. the face plate. There are three trim plates included with each Switchex Dimmer/Driver: white, light almond and dark brown. This is the plate on the interior of the dimmer. The face plate is the outside plate. Those are sold separately and you can even use a common Decora plate. Also of note is that the barrier can be trimmed to fit more shallow boxes. The barrier permits both high and low voltage connections to be installed in the same electrical box. Here’s a totally awesome feature of the new Switchex. There is a 1V ‘boost’ adjustment. Have voltage drop issues? Give it a boost. Problem solved. How much does the Switchex cost? In small quantities, a 60W 12V Switchex retails for $225.00 each. Contractors who have a relationship with us and volume buyers, contact us for a quote. Consider that you would pay about $91.00 for a 60W 12V dimmable magnetic transformer plus the cost of a compatible line voltage dimmer ($25-$30). Not to mention that you have to find a place for the relatively large and heavy dimmable magnetic transformer and have a bit of extra wiring to do. Contractors in particular just love the Switchex for ease of installation. Also, because the Switchex comes with three different color face plates, they have only one dimmer to carry in the supply truck and don’t have to make trips to the supply house to suit their customers’ decor. The Switchex achieves 100% to 1% smooth dimming and there is no minimum load and there is no de-rating required when ganging units. And of course, it has all the certifications: cULus, RoHS, CE and FCC plus a 5 year warranty. So wait no longer.
