Samsung Inputs Technology into Hotels at HITEC 2018


With technology implement, hospitality industry keeps seeking for upgraded services to create exclusive experiences for the guests. The Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) provides a platform for experts in both hospitality and technology to connect and cooperate. This year at HITEC, Samsung showcases several products including digital displays and wearable devices to enhance the management and service quality.

Samsung set up a real life hotel environment with different scenarios such as reception desk, business center, concierge, and hotel rooms to demonstrate its products and the application. In-room display LYNK™ REACH offers graphical user interface (GUI) that allow guests to interact with hotel staffs, providing customized services. With Samsung Flip, a portable digital flipchart, Samsung delivers the solutions for hotels to fully utilize the common spaces like business center. At the outdoor area, various signage products support efficient communication between clients and the hotels.

Partnered with ALICE, a hotel operation platform, Samsung also launched a smartwatch solution for improving communications between staffs and increasing the quality of services. As the hotel employees are often mobile and handling jobs with both hands, the smartwatch helps them to receive guests’ request and respond to tasks instantly while keep their hand free. Through the solution, other workers and managers can also track task in real-time to control the service quality.

Viceroy Hotel Group, a luxury hotel brand based in the U.S., will adopt the smartwatch. “In the true spirit of connection, it’s been exhilarating to bring together two leaders in their respective industries to help discover new ways to create game-changing solutions that will advance the hotel industry,” said Darren Clark, Vice President of Technology of Viceroy Hotel Group.

The event is currently opening to visitors at George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas until June 21st.
