Osram and mantro Develop a Sensor to Optimize Office Building Management

Osarm has cooperated with German company builder mantro to develop VISN, a product for analyzing and optimizing spaces in the office. The two companies are presenting the product at the Expo Real trade fair from October 8th – 10th in Munich, Germany.

The jointly developed product VISN which integrates sensors and software was developed to make office building management more effective. VISN is fully compatible to Osram‘s recently launched Lightelligence platform and can therefore be fully integrated into other solutions on the platform.

VISN uses permanently installed room sensors to detect the occupancy of office space in real time. With the browser-based dashboard, employees can immediately recognize which rooms are available or occupied. All persons in the room remain completely anonymous. For facility management, it is also possible to evaluate the number of people present and the periods of use. With the help of this analysis, buildings can be occupied much more efficiently in the long term, which can contribute to savings in heating and cleaning costs, among other things.

Osram has expanded its product portfolio with innovative technologies including smart building and sensing applications. The company has underlined its high-tech company positioning once again in September, addressing that “Osram is very well positioned strategically and financially for the technologies and trends of the future. We are becoming the leading photonics champion. Our semiconductor segment OS forms the technological backbone of our strategic development.”
