Oreon Supplies LED Fixtures to Greenhouses in Russia and Medicinal Cannabis Grower in Denmark

Oreon, a Netherlands-based horticulture LED grow light supplier, recently announced its partnerships with two Russian companies and a Danish cannabis grower. They are going to implement LED grow lights supplied by Oreon to enhance the cultivation.

Oreon has entered the Russian market and will supply LED fixtures to the Agrokultura Group and Yelets Vegetables, two major players in the Russian market. The Agrokultura Group has a growing facility close to Moscow. The company is building an additional 20 hectares of new greenhouses to its existing 80 hectares greenhouses and will install Oreon’s LED fixtures. The installation is to start in September with the aim to have the LED fixtures operational in 2021.

Yelets Vegetables also choose Oreon’s LED fixtures for its greenhouses which currently illuminated with HPS lighting. The company aims to add LED lighting to its site and believes in a future with LED assimilation lighting. Since the price of energy in Russia is high, adopting LED lighting will help the growers to save cost as well. The installation of the LED fixtures will be carried out in part of the greenhouse complex at the beginning of 2021.

Meanwhile, Oreon is also supplying LED fixtures to Danish medicinal cannabis grower Medican. Denmark legalized the cultivation of medicinal cannabis in 2018. Immediately following the announcement of the legalization, 22 growers applied for a license. Medican is new to the market and will illuminate with LED lighting; the fixtures have already been delivered and will be put into use this year.

Denmark is not the only country demanding Oreon’s LED lighting. Due to the legalization of the cultivation of medical cannabis, Oreon is seeing increasing interest in its water cooled fixtures in many more European countries.
