LG Innotek has reportedly launched visible LEDs for disinfection lighting which uses indoor light to deliver sterilization effect, according the report of Korea Herald.

As claimed by the company, its 405-nanometer visible LEDs are able to sterilize indoor spaces by wiping out 99.9 percent of bacteria without using other chemicals when the light is switched on. Different sterilization modes can be set according to the contamination level.
According to LG Innotek, the LEDs can be implemented for lighting sources in restrooms or kitchens where many people pass as its sterilization function does not harm the human body. The product was examined by the Photobiological Safety Standard of International Electrotechnical Commission and was deemed to be safe for the eyes and skin.
