Lextar to Integrate Mini LED Technology into Automotive Tail Lamps

Vertically integrated LED company Lextar is going to announce its I-Mini Square module for automotive tail lamp applications. Adopted with Lextar’s latest Mini LED technology, this automotive module can display dynamic images with RGB full color screens. Lextar will debut its application concept at the biannual Electronica 2018 event held in Munich from November 13th to 16th.

According to Lextar, the automotive tail lamp application module – I-Mini Square is able to present high brightness, high contrast and high resolution with its thin design. Compared to OLED display which is applied on automotive lamps currently, I-Mini Square has higher lifetime and reliability as it does not leave afterimages and has better tolerance to different environmental conditions.

When being applied on automotive tail lamps, the Mini LED automotive module can deliver lights to show different information while driving. In addition, the smooth dynamic screen makes tail lamps more customized and personalized with its function to communicate messages such as warnings with display screens.

Lextar noted that Mini LED display technology has unlimited potential when used with IoT and smart devices. Aside from automotive applications, displays adopting Mini LED technology would be practical for commercial, educational and medical applications.
