Right after CES 2020, there are more international shows coming up and LiDAR technology builders continue their journey. LeddarTech and its Japanese distributor Nagase are exhibiting at CAR-ELE as part of Automotive World 2020 in Tokyo starting January 15. Meanwhile, Israeli weighing technology expert and Hitachi unveiled their collaboration result at NRF 2020 Vision (Retails Big Show).
Canadian LeddarTech will join its Japanese distribution partner, Nagase, at Automotive World 2020 in Tokyo, Japan. The Automotive World show brings together a variety of automotive electronic technologies, including components, materials, software, manufacturing equipment, and testing technologies, attracting automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers from all around the world.
“LeddarTech is dedicated to providing the best technology and support to our worldwide customers. We are proud to be associated with such a reputable distributor as Nagase,” stated Adrian Pierce, Vice-President of Global Sales and Business Development at LeddarTech. He added, “This year, we look forward to presenting the award-winning Leddar™ Pixell at the event. This 3D solid-state LiDAR cocoon solution is specially designed for autonomous vehicles such as autonomous shuttles, robotaxis, commercial and delivery vehicles ‒ enabling best-in-class safety through enhanced detection and robustness.”
Shekel Brainweigh, an Israel-based weighing technology developer, and Hitachi unveiled Capsule, the world’s first framework with autonomous micro-market solution based on Hitachi’s LiDAR sensors at NRF 2020 Vision (Retail’s Big Show). The two companies will showcase the first fully operational autonomous store throughout the event.
According to the two companies, Capsule is a modular and integrated framework for autonomous micro-market that revolutionizes the way shoppers purchase items. It acts as an autonomous shopping solution, a perfect real time inventory management platform and privacy compliant LiDAR shopper tracking technology, all packed in an affordable end-to-end cost/effective solution.
Udi Wiesner, General Manager – Retail innovation Division, Shekel Brainweigh, said, “Capsule allows retailers to provide consumers with a wider variety of products including food and beverage choices and the ability to purchase multiple items in the same transaction without ever having to visit a check out station. These are exactly the features consumers demand in grab-and-go and express shopping environments.”
