As technology becomes more advanced, more innovative ways to accomplish the same purpose are being created every day. For example, construction workers or any heavy equipment machinery that work and operate at night needs sufficient lighting to effectively do their jobs properly. Old fashioned incandescent halogen lamps do the job, but require a large amount of electrical energy and they are not that efficient in providing light. More efficient forms of lighting such as LED lights are becoming more and more popular among industrial and commercial vehicles as a reliable lighting source.
If you have ever driven on the freeway at night, you may have seen several construction vehicles whether they are full blown earth diggers to a simple work truck and they all sport yellow and white lights that flash to let people know they are there. While they are working at a site, those lights have to be left on and that would drain the vehicles battery if the engine was not running. However, leaving the engine on and running is not cheap since gas is an expensive commodity to own. Since LED lights are very efficient at using power to convert to light, LED emergency or construction lights are becoming more commonly used in applications. Instead of having to leave the vehicle engine on to power the lights, LEDs can run directly off the battery without the engine thanks to their super low power draw and efficiency.
Another huge advantage that LED lights have over conventional incandescent halogen bulbs is their durability in harsh environments. LED lights are not vulnerable to vibrations and external temperatures like incandescent halogen bulbs are; LEDs are vibration resistant and can operate in extremely cold or hot temperatures with ease. Heavy machinery such as tractors, plows, earth diggers and other CAT manufacturer vehicles would benefit greatly from a bulb-less LED light that is reliable and durable. In addition to these benefits, most LED work lights are water proof to a certain degree so it can withstand wet and snowy working conditions without having to worry about shorting out. The long working life of LEDs also provide added benefits as these types of lights will be constantly on for long periods at a time.
LED work lights are also available in a variety of different sizes and styles to fit a variety of applications. The most common styles available are the round and square shaped ones with durable metal mounts for an easy installation. However, for applications with limited space there are also ones that come in a bar shape which can be installed on narrow applications. Thanks to the easy installation procedure with LED work lamps, they are an easy modification to make for almost any application. Wiring is also easy as they only require a 12v power source to operate and can withstand 24v applications as well; with just two wires to connect to, it’s as easy as cake.
To conclude, LED work lamps are the way to go if you want light on your industrial or even commercial vehicles. LED lights and their durability, resistance to temperature, life span, and easy to work with nature make them an ideal solution. While the price for LED lights may still be a bit costly compared to regular incandescent halogen bulbs, they will pay for themselves overtime. The cost of changing out a halogen bulb multiple times in the operational lifetime of the vehicle will add up whereas an LED may outlive the vehicle it is on.
