Fohse, a horticulture lighting supplier based in Nevada, USA, announced that it has closed a deal with Curative Cannabis, a Canadian cannabis grower, to supply cannabis grow lights to its growing facility in Ontario. Curative Cannabis has a production capacity that is scheduled to produce up to 3,000 kg (approx. 6,600 lbs) of cannabis per year both for large-scale cultivation.
With the supply partnership, Fohse will be deploying its A3i and F1V LED lighting models in Curative Cannabis’ 30,000 square foot growing facility. Curative Cannabis expects that its yields will improve as a result of using Fohse’s lighting fixtures, in addition to saving approximately 50 percent on energy, compared to conventional HPS lighting systems.

After cannabis became legalized at the federal level in Canada in 2018, startup companies have sought to acquire market share in all parts of the cannabis supply chain. Statistics Canada estimated in 2018 that nearly five million Canadians spent money on marijuana in the previous year, with each person spending about CAD $1,200 (US$ 890).
