Blog – New LED Lights

Have you had your eye on our aluminium channel for LED strip lights but don’t know how to go about cutting, soldering and waterproofing? Perhaps you don’t have a mitre saw or soldering iron or don’t know what tip to use. We’ve had several requests, so we’re going to make a custom service available to you. We’ll do all the cutting, soldering and waterproofing and prepare finished product for you, ready to install with custom length wire leads. Our customers just love flexible LED strip and want to use it everywhere. However, we always advise that it not be used bare in installations such as in kitchen cabinetry. Attempting to clean it almost always results in a disaster. Our aluminium channel for LED strip lights solves that problem. With your choice of a clear or frosted cover, it protects the delicate flexible LED strip so it can be used almost anywhere. It can accommodate white, solid colour, and RGB LED flexible strips. Sealed with proper end caps and silicone, it can even be used outdoors. It’s extremely low profile at only 0.2″ high and is perfect for cabinets and shelving. Just think of how awesome this would be under the eaves for holiday decorations or simply to add a soft white accent to horizontal or vertical architectural features. We sell aluminium channel in 1-meter lengths, and flexible LED strip in 3′, 6′, 9′, 12′ cuts as well as 16′ full reels. Those minimum lengths will not change. It would not be economical for example, to build one 4″ cabinet light for you. It is also important for you to understand that flexible LED strip can only be cut at specific points, typically between every three LEDs on the circuit board. That being said, it is not possible for us to cut to highly specific measurements. Your price will depend upon which flexible LED strip product you choose, the length of wire leads (yes, that is customizable as well), and labour by the hour (billed in one-hour increments).
