Here are the whys and wherefores about our LED light bulb across the board price reductions. In the early LED days, we had little choice but to purchase our LED light bulbs in significant quantities from factories offshore. Consumers weren’t likely to find LED bulbs in the big box stores and there were no major US producers or US-based warehouses. That situation has changed rapidly over the succeeding years, much to our delight. No longer do we have to tie up thousands of dollars in a single product offering as the stock is available to us within a one to two day transit time. Our import costs such as freight in and brokerage and duty fees have decreased substantially. So have warehousing costs. You may be familiar with a ‘just in time’ inventory system. That’s what we’re able to accomplish now, and when we save, so do you. It’s worth mentioning that LED technology changes almost on a daily basis. One day, an offered product such as a LED MR16 isn’t dimmable. The next day it is, and it’s brighter! That being said, low inventory on our shelves makes it possible to bring in the better, brighter, more feature rich product right away. What do we do with the old stock? For example, if you’re shopping for LED lights online today and are satisfied with an MR16 LED bulb that isn’t dimmable and has a 35 watt light output, you can save a LOT on our remaining stock. The new product is dimmable and is equivalent to a 50-watt halogen. Cost savings alone may make it so that you can and will compromise. Look at lumen output, rated lifespan, watts consumed, warranty, and other features such as dimming characteristics. Especially if you are considering a major purchase of a LED product and see something that looks like ours but is considerably less, let us know. Also, consider the service you can expect. I can’t tell you how many times we get phone calls and emails from victims of certain online LED product sellers. The product arrives without all the necessary parts and suddenly that vendor has disappeared and/or won’t answer emails.
