Flexible LED strip, sometimes referred to as LED ribbon lights, are the answer to much low profile LED lighting applications. Thin and pliable, flexible LED strip is easy to cut to a custom length. It’s extra bright and available in warm or cool white, solid colours, and RGB colour changing. Although LED ribbon lights are perfect as a stand alone in many situations, there are times when you will have a need to either protect it from damage or cover it with a lens to diffuse the light output. That’s when the aluminum channel for LED strip lights comes into play. It comes in 1-meter lengths, can easily be cut to size, and secures to the surface with specially made brackets. Consider a kitchen lighting project, for example. Surfaces under kitchen cabinets need to be cleaned regularly to prevent any sticky buildup of normal cooking emissions.

This can be avoided by enclosing the strip inside the aluminium channel and covering it with a lens, designed to slip right into the channel. Frosted lenses diffuse and soften the light output. The standard aluminium channel is a flat, low profile LED lighting accessory.
