Better than ever, these economically priced 365-400nM UV LED flashlights fit many professional uses

Special wavelength blue and UV LED Flashlights are often packed in crime LED crime scene kits along with protective goggles, extra batteries and/or chargers. There are times that a single pocket size UV LED flashlight will be more than adequate, especially if your wavelength need is not highly specific. The Inova X5 UV LED flashlights to fit that bill. For an understanding of blue and UV LED wavelengths, have a look at our UV Application Matrix. You will see what wavelength is best for very specific tasks. LED crime scene kits for forensics tend to run on the pricey end of the spectrum and narrow LED binning is one of the price factors.
What are LED bins? Imagine taking a bag of dried split pea soup mix and pouring it out on the counter. Some will be bright green, some will be light green, and some will even tend toward yellow. If I want only bright green peas in my soup, I’d have to go through a lot of bags of peas to find enough of those and it would end up being a costly pot of soup. Same with LEDs. An nM range between 365 and 400 would equate to using green peas and no yellow peas. They’ll still be the right colour, but there will be slight variances from one production run to another. Wavelength tolerance allows a UV LED product to be produced at a much more economical price point.
In spite of the low price, the Inova X5 UV LED Flashlights are built to last. Made of high quality machined aluminium, they are shock proof, crush proof and water resistant. The high-grade titanium finish is anodized. Stainless steel head with individual recessed reflectors protects the LED bulbs while directing light. And for safety sake, there is even a lockout mode to prevent accidental operation. It goes without saying that any UV LED product must be used with proper caution. Don’t expose your skin to UV rays, and always use protective eyewear.
As mentioned in an earlier article, Ron Smith has recently joined our sales team here at TheLEDLight.com. He has an extensive background in investigations and understands well the needs of professionals and the tools they employ. Just last week, Ron was able to help a customer build a specialised LED crime scene kit with three different wavelengths (red, blue and UV) to meet all of his specific needs. Ron can help you too.
