TCL’s 34-inch Mini LED Curved Gaming Monitor
On July 30, TCL exhibited a 34-inch 165Hz 1500R Mini LED curved gaming monitor at ChinaJoy 2021 for the first time. Using TCL’s high-performance HVA panel, the monitor has 1,152 dimming zones, a one-million-to-one contrast ratio, and 1,400 nits of peak brightness.
Additionally, TCL’s gaming monitor boasts a curvature level of 1500R and ultra-wide viewing angle of 178°, thereby providing more engaging and stunning visual experiences during gameplay.
BOE’s 480Hz Mini LED Professional Gaming Monitor
At the ChinaJoy 2021 event, BOE showcased a 480Hz professional gaming monitor that incorporates Mini LED technology with the ADS pro system solution. The monitor is equipped with 10,000 dimming zones, a million-level contrast ratio, and 2,000 nits of brightness.
Along with its extremely precise Mini-LED local dimming, BOE’s gaming monitor has captured attention because of an ultra-high refresh rate of 480Hz. BOE specified that compared with the mainstream refresh rates of 144Hz and 165Hz in monitors, its gaming model is able to achieve 480Hz, equaling to 1ms response time. Such an impressively short response time allows the monitor to present animated scenes without ghosting, thereby bringing excellent gaming experiences for Esports players and core gamers.
Brief Conclusion
Before the said three companies revealed Mini LED monitors, Acer had already announced a 17.9-inch Mini LED notebook target the gaming industry, the Predator Helios 500. Adopting AUO’s adaptive Mini LED display technology, the notebook features 4K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB wide color gamut.
Indeed, leading companies are endeavoring to explore the applications of Mini LED backlighting technology; in addition to TV applications, they are now targeting the gaming display market as the gaming industry is flourishing. The gaming market in China, as one of the largest markets worldwide, is particularly promising. Therefore, the gaming display market is going to be a new battleground among Mini LED suppliers.
