After waiting a long time to hear from the folks at Safe-Light Industries, we’re still not sure what’s happening with the PALight LED flashlights PAL Survival 9 Volt LED Flashlight. After following the Safe-Light Industries Facebook page for quite some time, at long last, a small quantity of these practical and every popular 9 V LED flashlights were released by an unnamed individual from the company for sale on eBay last weekend. The spokesperson said that there was only a limited number available and that the product would be permanently discontinued. Surprised by that? Yes, so were we. Especially after the first so-called small batch sold out, the company stated that they would be putting another link up on eBay. And now, all of the previous comments have been removed from the company’s Facebook page and only a link to a review of the product is there. I wonder what’s going on, don’t you? For those of you who may not be familiar with this handy little PALight LED light, it’s one of the first LED products we brought to market back in the late 90’s. It operates on a single 9-volt battery and the whole assembly isn’t much larger than the battery. The sturdy neoprene case can be dropped and even stepped on as I can attest to, One of the features appreciated by all is the ‘always on’ mode. As long as the battery has even a bit of life in it, you see a soft glow emitting from the lens. It makes it so easy to find your light when it has made its way to the bottom of your backpack or under the car seat. And the strobe mode has been a life-saving feature for many. So… will we see this handy little light again? Somehow I think we may. Stay tuned …
