Money saving tips about using aluminium channel for LED lighting Aluminum Channel – a new, wider version .Aluminium channel for LED strip lighting is one of the best ideas to come along in a very long time. The channel is specially designed to accommodate flexible LED strip lighting and protects it from dust, moisture, bumps and bruises. Until now, we’ve offered both a frosted cover and a clear cover, the latter of which is for those who want optimum light output. Typically, a clear cover is only used when the flexible LED strip is pointing downward. Otherwise, you will see the individual LEDs on the strip and it may be hard on the eyes. The channel we’ve offered thus far is not quite wide enough to accommodate waterproof flexible LED strips. However, our new channel fits the waterproof flexible LED strip quite nicely, eliminating the need to purchase a clear cover. The waterproofing is clear, the circuit board is white, and so you have the same protective effect and optimum brightness without the additional cost. It is also worth mentioning that the cost of the end caps and brackets have come down – way, way down. If you’re shopping on our website today, be sure to email us as the new product and new pricing has not yet been updated. We will contact anyone who orders unaware of the new pricing. We’ve had customers ask about using the channel in damp and wet locations. Although with proper waterproofing, non-waterproof flexible LED strips can be sealed within the channel with a cover, it’s always best to use waterproof flexible LED strip which is designed for this kind of use. Your damp installation concerns are now solved. Aluminium channel comes in 1-meter lengths. Flexible LED strips come in 5-meter reels. So you won’t have any waste if you’re working on a larger installation which includes a channel. You get one connector with each reel of flexible LED strip. You simply order four more connectors and make your field cuts. For convenience sake, we also sell flexible LED strip in 3′, 6′, 9′ and 12′ lengths, so if you need only a piece or two, again, you will not have any waste. Just purchase what you need for the job. At theLEDLight.com it’s all about making the product work for you. When you have a situation you aren’t quite sure how to deal with, please ask for help. When you’re looking for something and can’t find it on our website, please ask for help. Very often we can get something for you within just a few days even if it isn’t something we stock. For example, there is no reason for you to struggle with multiple power supplies in larger installations. We can either obtain 120VAC flexible LED strip for you that doesn’t require a power supply, or we can obtain much larger power supplies than our website stocks and sells on a daily basis. UL listed flexible LED strip is also on the way in. Stay tuned to this blog for an update or keep an eye on our new products page. You can also email us and request that we call or email you as soon as a particular product is in stock.
