It’s raining cats and dogs here in Carson City NV this morning. One could call it a gloomy, wet day. But as I look out onto the landscape, I’m cheered by the glow tiny little white, amber, blue, red and green lights peeking out from between the moisture laden shrubbery. The LED Microstar is one of the most versatile and pleasing single LED lights that are part of my LED landscape lighting. Small and easy to intertwine amongst ground cover and rock croppings, they’re not only easy to install but are inherently safe as they are low voltage (12 VDC). The Microstar coloured LED lights are durable enough to install in fountains or waterfalls. The assortment of colours allows you so much room for creativity. I choose to use a variety of colours for my LED landscape lighting. For example, the bright blue of periwinkle is complimented beautifully by our amber-orange Micro stars; yellow climbing roses are offset perfectly by the green LEDs, and blue seemed to be a natural choice to peek out from between rock croppings on the banks. You may prefer to use only white light. White light creates a starry night effect that is quite lovely to behold. Intelligently designed, the MicroStar LED Landscaping Lights to have a 5/16″ wide flanged top for flush mounting (left image) with or without the gasket acting as the “lock nut”. It can also be set into a 3/8″ diameter hole with the gasket pressed in the hole, then pressing the MicroStar LED Landscaping Light into the gasket. The MicroStar LED Landscaping Light can also be glued in place when there is an insufficient material thickness to use the gasket as a “lock nut”. This feature makes the Micro stars equally at home indoors as they are outdoors. If you’re thinking about highlighting an outside wall or creating a starry night effect in your home theatre or a bedroom, these are the single LED lights of choice. Your imagination is your only limitation when it comes to LED lighting. Recently, a customer came to our store with a problem to solve. His elderly father-in-law suffers from low vision and was having difficulty navigating his way down a long hallway at night. One of our techs helped him to devise a plan to install Micro stars along the baseboard in that long hallway. Dad can now easily see a pathway in front of him. He no longer bumps into the wall or mistakes the linen closet for the hall bath. With a low power consumption of only 20 mA each, our customer was able to complete the installation with a very inexpensive AC-DC transformer. Our smallest (1 Amp) transformer can power up to 40 of the micro stars. And, with such a low power consumption, there are no utility bill issues even when you leave them on 24/7.
