Flush mount LED lights vs. surface mount LED lights

Clarifying lighting terms that can be confusing to the consumer
To most of us, the term ‘flush mount’ means that the light fixture will not extend below the plane of the ceiling. That’s not always the case, however. LED light fixtures like our 120VAC flush mount LED ceiling lights are referred to as flush mount because the electrical box is inside the ceiling. The fixture itself extends about an inch below the ceiling plane. We offer both LED lighting solutions. When you need a low profile LED lighting solution and a LED ceiling light fixture that sits flush with the plane of the ceiling, take a look at our 24VDC round
LED flush mount lights. This LED ceiling light is only 13 mm (about 1/2 inch) thick, so it’s perfect when you have very little space in the ceiling for installation or are working on a lighting plan in a room with lower ceiling height. When ceiling height provides, or when there is already a junction box in the ceiling, the other form of flush mount LED ceiling lights to fit the bill. In two styles and three sizes, you’ll find one to fit the job. See the 7″ flush mount lights in white or satin nickel trim here and the 11 and 14 inches clean, white ceiling lights here. These have all the bells and whistles as well. They are damp location rated so are just fine in bathrooms and other damp locations, ETL or cUL listed, and energy star rated. These make fine hallway and bedroom ceiling lights with a brightness level ranging from 60 to 100-watt incandescent equivalent.
Another interesting approach to retrofitting and updating your light fixtures is the LED ceiling light retrofit kit. When you love your light fixture but dislike your power bill, LED retrofits can be the answer. Again, we offer more than one solution. We have LED retrofits that fit into your existing recessed lighting fixtures. We also have a unique, round LED module that is 8.125″ diameter x 0.75″ thick. This slick LED retrofit will fit into many of your existing round ceiling lights and is simple to install. When you’re not sure what it is exactly you need, we’ll be glad to help.
