The 12 inch modular LED cabinet lights have always been popular. The small profile, clever shape, and bright LEDs adapt it to many uses. The new version retains all these qualities and adds a diffusing cover, more LEDs, and a useful new accessory. While principally an undercabinet light, it is equally at home lighting a workbench, sewing table, or closet. With its attractive matte aluminium body, it doesn’t need to be hidden away; and its slim cross section, just 2/3 ± (17mm) wide and tall, fits into tight spaces. The new light has twice as many LEDs, 12 rather than 6, making it more than half-again as bright. 290 lumens vs. 180 lumens for daylight white (5000¢ªK). To make the brighter light more attractive, the light cover is frosted instead of clear, diffusing the light for a smoother effect. The shape is the same: the light bar has a low profile, and an angled bottom, providing two good mounting options. The included clips allow it to be mounted pointing straight, or at a 45-degree angle. The bar fits perfectly butted directly behind the bottom lip of the cabinet, fully illuminating the backsplash and counter. Mounted pointing straight down, the light falls fully on the counter. A variety of accessory cords and a light bar connector are still available. The new accessory is an on/off switch that plugs directly into the end of a light, between the power cord and LED cabinet light. It has a simple button-type switch, and looks the part of the light, with a matte black finish that matches the end caps. Just like the previous version, this is robust little light. The housing is sturdy aluminium alloy. It has an operating range of ambient temperatures from -4 degrees F to 104 degrees F. The LED cabinet light is CE and RoHS certified, the 24VDC power supply is UL listed. This has been a rightly popular LED cabinet light, with is slim lines and clever mounting options. The increased light and optional on/off button have made just that bit better. This is a light worth careful consideration for any needing a small cabinet light.
