New LED Lights – Yet another new omni directional LED light bulb is here

Medium base LED bulbs with a wide light spread produce light upward as well as downward.
It doesn’t seem all that long ago that the thought of producing effective LED light bulbs with a light output comparable to a 100-watt incandescent seemed unlikely. In the LED world, heat is enemy number one. In order to produce a brighter bulb, engineers had to find a way to keep things cool inside the glass. We’ve had many a delight in our test bay. One of the first to appear was a LED light bulb with a funky purple liquid inside the glass. These LED bulbs were actually the size of a standard 100 watt A19 incandescent bulb which was a huge plus. Initial light output was great. Then the inevitable happened. The liquid inside the glass began to evaporate. Heat build up caused the glass to break. It was then we found that the purple liquid was an oily substance that created quite a mess on the floor beneath. For the obvious reasons, we didn’t offer that to our customers in spite of all of the begging and pleading. Next on the scene were fan cooled LED light bulbs. These were really too large to be practical, but we tried them anyway. As you’d expect, the noise was rather annoying and got louder and louder as the fan had to rev up to keep up with the task. Longevity? Nothing to be proud of. These didn’t make it to our shelves either.
Finally, in early 2014, remote phosphor technology came along, making it possible to reduce the number of LEDs needed while enhancing light quality. Now we had a winner. Now we had medium base LED bulbs which produced the equivalent of 100 to 150 incandescent watts. As an added bonus, the light output was omnidirectional, meaning a full 360 degrees light spread. Problem? Although these produce a beautiful light, the issue is that when the light is not turned on, there is a bright orange halo or mushroom cap so to speak. Not very appealing to the eye to say the least. Although this wouldn’t be seen in a shaded table or floor lamp, it certainly would be seen under more transparent glass. We have some of these in stock we’d like to move out, so if you order now, you’ll buy at significant savings. Here’s the latest to enter the bright LED light bulb ring. Now we have a clean, white omnidirectional LED light bulb to offer you. Available in 5000K Daylight White or 3000K warm white. These LED Light Bulbs are suitable for damp locations, UL listed and Energy Star Rated. 300 degree omnidirectional light output is also dimmable with a standard household dimmer. And the price? It’s pretty darned good. What’s the next LED light bulb challenge? Size. Size does matter. Larger bulbs simply do not fit everywhere they need to fit. As always, we have our fingers on the pulse. We continually bring the product into our test bays and give them a rigorous workout before ever bringing them to market. That’s just one of the reasons why The LED Light is a name you can trust.
