Small, bright LED accent lighting in a 12 volt LED light in white and colours August 10, 2015 Nary a day goes by that we don’t get an interesting telephone call or email from a prospective customer seeking a solution to a lighting challenge. Lighting for sculptures and art can sometimes present the most difficult problems. Sculptures are frequently placed outdoors, and so a waterproof solution is absolutely necessary. Every art form is as different as the artist who created it. So it makes sense that different portions of the sculpture may need to be highlighted, and sometimes in colour. Materials can be anything from stone to metal to wood. There simply is not a one size fits all solution.

One would think that the latest technology would provide the ultimate solution to LED accent lighting design challenges. That’s not always the case. A product line that we’ve had for many, many years, our LED Micro stars and Tri-Clusters and 9 Stars still fit the bill for many of these difficult to light creations. Let’s take a look at some of the ways. Mounting Options: The LED MicroStar is a single LED light source with a unique mounting choice. It has a flanged top so your light can be flush mounted, or you can use the gasket to act as a lock nut. You can even remove the gasket and glue the stainless steel shaft in place. The Tri-Clusters come in various shapes and configurations, even with a flexible stalk. You can add more stalk or remove what you don’t need for a superior custom fit. And when you need even more light output, step up to the 9 Stars. All are dimmable with a 12VDC dimmer. MicroStar Mounting Options

Operating Voltage: Although we recommend a regulated AC-DC transformer as your best choice, you aren’t stuck with that. All of these products have an operating voltage of 8-15VDC which means that your lights will still light up as your battery power starts to drain, and you won’t blow your lights during the charging cycle as long as it does not exceed 15VDC. Warranty: You won’t see this very much these days – Limited LIFETIME warranty to the original purchaser. In all these years, there have been very few warranty claims. These products are constructed with superior materials and well potted, so moisture just doesn’t get inside to do damage to the product.
