Most of us here in the USA set our clocks back last Sunday. Designed to give us a bit more light in the early morning hours, this has the reverse effect of making it darker sooner. Just a short week ago, we left the workplace and made our way home in light. Now, we’re traversing the rush hour in the dark. That means that we’re heading out to sports activities and other outdoor recreation in the dark as well.

The shorter length makes it much easier for an officer to get in and out of a vehicle quickly without being encumbered by length. The larger of the two is 21″ long overall and available in red, amber or a red/green combination. Red is the most popular as it’s the colour of STOP and ALERT. Amber is frequently used in construction zones where you want people to slow down and pay attention. Amber is the colour of CAUTION. The red/green combination is particularly useful for directing traffic and for valet parking concessions. The light can be changed by a simple push of a switch from red to green, meaning GO and STOP.
