As demands from various applications promote the LED output value continuously, according to a survey, the total amount of LED product saw an increasing growth last year. Moreover, it is predicted that LED lighting, which is drawn much attention, will hit the lighting market in advance in the year of 2011 and become the first choice of consumers when they buy LED products. Except new applications, small sized back light cellphone and consuming products have already hit the market with 100 percent.
According to its applications, integrated circuits that are driven by LED can be divided into three classes. One is the kind for consuming, which is characterized by battery-powered supply; one is the kind for auto lighting, which has high demands for voltage drop in order to drive the IC; last is the kind of lighting for architecture and family, it must have functions to change alternating current to direct current and at the same time, to match the LED voltage and current. On the whole, technologies for LED drive are much more mature while for auto lighting, it needs more quantities of LED and relatively higher voltage.
In addition, quality of IC drive is the key factor for its lighting property. Technology that can achieve constant luminous will be the goal that manufactures seeking. To achieve long time lighting, complicated circuits need to be designed to ensure their life span, so quality of the power supply drive is the most important factor.
There are two parts of solutions for current LED lighting. One is to transform the 220V voltage for common use to 24V alternating current adapter; the other is to the LED voltage controller which is used to provide driving current to LED.
